THIS HOME AND EVERYTHING IN IT
Like so many mothers before me, I struggle with conflicting desires. While wishing to hold my children close and shelter them from harm, I empathize with their natural yearning to take flight and pursue their own dreams and destinies. With my camera, I work to express the ambivalence of my joyful wonder and overwhelming sadness. The noise and bustle of their passing childhood dims behind now-closed bedroom doors, exposing an invisible divide. Intertwining glimpses of who they will become with fragments of their younger selves, I contemplate how quiet my life will become once they leave home.
